actinomycetoma

A tumour-like collection of fungus-like bacterial colonies in the tissues, often involving the lower limbs, and caused by ACTINOMYCOSIS. This essentially tropical condition arises from a thorn injury, often to barefoot people, and is sometimes called ‘madura foot’.
