Diazoaminols

 

preparations for dyeing fabrics various colors; mixtures of diazoamino compounds and naphthols. Diazoaminols are a component of dyes used for designs printed on fabrics; when the cloth is treated with steam, the diazoamino compound splits to give a stabilizing amine and a diazonium salt; the latter reacts with the naphthol on the cloth to give an insoluble azo dye. The stabilizer is washed out with water.
