Dobrynin, Anatoli! Fedorovich

Born Nov. 16, 1919, in the village of Krasnaia Gorka, Uvarovka Raion, Moscow Oblast. Soviet governmental leader and diplomat. Member of the CPSU since 1945.

Dobrynin is the son of a worker. He graduated from the Ordzhonikidze Moscow Aviation Institute in 1942 and from the Higher Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR in 1946 and is a candidate of history and a decent. While working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR from 1947 to 1952, he also taught at the Institute of International Relations. Dobrynin was counselor, then minister-counselor of the USSR embassy in the USA from 1952 to 1955, assistant to the minister of foreign affairs of the USSR from 1955 to 1957, undersecretary general of the UN from 1957 to 1960, and chief of the department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR from 1960 to 1962. Ap-pointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the USSR to the USA in March 1962, he was elected a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU at the Twenty-third Party Congress in 1966 and a member of the Central Committee at the Twenty-fourth Congress in 1971. Dobrynin has been awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and many medals.
