Feed RatioA ratio of the total cost of food for an animal over the course of its life to the animal's sale price. Futures and commodity traders use the feed ratio to determine whether investing in animal commodities is worth the overhead costs. A ratio of less than one indicates that one can make a net profit from selling the animal while a ratio greater than one indicates the opposite. See also: Corn-Hog Ratio. |
