Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate

Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate

(CaHPO4·2H2O), a mineral phosphate fertilizer. Dicalcium phosphate dihydrate is a white or light-gray powder that is dusty when introduced into the soil. It does not cake and is efficiently sowed by fertilizer spreaders. It contains 27-35 percent P2O5 and is produced by the reaction H3PO4 + Ca(OH)2 = CaHPO4·2H2O. A basic fertilizer, it is used with all types of cultures and soils, although its greatest effectiveness is with acid soils. Dicalcium phosphate dihydrate is also used as a mineral feed supplement for animals.
