Ageev, Nikolai

Ageev, Nikolai Vladimirovich

 

Born June 17 (30), 1903, in Tiflis. Soviet chemist and metallurgist, member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968; corresponding member, 1946). Member of the CPSU since 1944.

Ageev graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1926 and continued to work there. From 1938 to 1951 he worked at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and since 1951 he has been at the Institute of Metallurgy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. His basic works are devoted to the study of metallic alloys, the regulation of solid solutions, electrical density, and the structure of metallic phases.

Ageev has been awarded the Order of Lenin, two other orders, and medals.
