Elizabethtown
Elizabethtown, city (1990 pop. 18,167), seat of Hardin co., central Ky.; inc. 1797. Originally developed as a trade center for agriculture, whiskey, and tobacco, the city now manufactures a variety of products. Points of interest include an old church (1789); the Lincoln Heritage House, built by Abraham Lincoln's father; and a restored stagecoach inn that was built in 1818. The city has several galleries and museums, including the Black History Gallery, Coca-Cola Memorabilia Museum, Pine Valley Golf Museum, and Model A Ford Museum. Fort Knox is nearby.AcronymsSeeELT |
