Elizarov, Viktor Dmitrievich

Born Aug. 7 (20), 1911, in the village of Pashkovo, in present-day Venev Raion, Tula Oblast. Soviet architect. Honored Architect of the Ukrainian SSR (1970). Member of the CPSU from 1944.

Elizarov graduated from the Moscow Institute of Architecture in 1937. He participated in the building program along the Kreshchatik, Kiev’s principal thoroughfare (design, 1945–47; construction, starting in 1947), in collaboration with A. V. Vlasov, A. V. Dobrovol’skii, and B. I. Priimak. He built the platform enclosure of the Kreshchatik metro station (1960–61) with A. V. Dobrovol’skii, N. S. Kolomiets, lu. V. Kislichenko, and I. L. Maslenkov, as well as the Hotel Dnieper in Kiev (1964) with N. B. Chmutina, la. L. Krasnyi, and engineers A. N. Pechenov and N. L Kuznetsov. In 1964, Elizarov became the vice-chairman of the State Committee on Construction of the Ukrainian SSR. He has been awarded two orders and several medals.
