Aesopus was famous for his majestic bearing and his carefully thought out gestures; he was a master at evoking powerful emotional and psychological responses from his audience. He acted with great success in the tragedies of Euripides. Aesopus last performed in 55 B.C. at the dedication of a theater built by Pompey.
