[′klȯz·ē·əs ‚nəm·bər] (thermodynamics) A dimensionless number used in the study of heat conduction in forced fluid flow, equal to V 3 L ρ/ k Δ T, where V is the fluid velocity, ρ is its density, L is a characteristic dimension, k is the thermal conductivity, and Δ T is the temperature difference.
