CCST

Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training. The formal document which allowed a doctor to practice in a particular specialty in the UK. It was awarded by the Specialist Training Authority (STA) to doctor trainees who had successfully completed a UK specialist training programme, before the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) took over the STA's functions in 2005. The PMETB passed control to the GMC in 2010; the CCST was replaced by the Certificate of Completion of Training—CCT.
