Evaluation of the Quality of Field Work
Evaluation of the Quality of Field Work
the system for determining whether the quality of tillage, planting, and harvesting meets the required standards of agricultural technique. The tillage procedures that are monitored and evaluated are plowing, cultivation, stubble plowing, and harrowing. A furrow measurer or a ruler is used to test the depth of plowing. The evenness of the furrows, the extent of areas missed by the plow, the presence of ridges and level areas resulting from tilling, and the degree of soil loosening and pulverization are tested, as is the turning over of stubble, weeds, and fertilizer and the slicing of the furrows. With respect to cultivation and stubble plowing, tests are made of the depth and evenness of tillage and the thoroughness with which weeds are undercut. For harrowing, the quality of soil loosening and the evenness of the soil surface are checked.
