clean power

clean power

Clean power is AC power that oscillates at a perfect 60 Hz with no noise or distortion in the line (a perfect sine wave). Clean power is better for all electronics. However, digital devices often have more tolerance for distortion than analog, which is why audiophiles swear by power conditioners. Even audiophile-grade power cords are said to improve sound quality. See audiophile.
