Evans blue


Evans blue

 [ev´anz] an odorless green, bluish green, or brown powder dye, used as a diagnostic acid in estimation of blood volume. The dye is injected into the bloodstream and after a sufficient period of time samples of the blood are taken to determine the degree of dilution of the dye.
