[‚brō·mə′vir·ə‚dī] (virology) A family of ribonucleic acid (RNA)-containing plant viruses that are characterized by nonenveloped virions with three segments of linear, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA. It includes the genera Bromovirus, Cucomovirus, Ilarvirus, Alfamovirus, and Oleavirus.
