CDK9
CDK9
A gene on chromosome 9q34.1 that encodes a cyclin-dependent kinase, which regulates cell cycle progression. CDK9 is part of the multiprotein complex TAK/P-TEFb, an elongation factor for RNA polymerase II-directed transcription, which acts by phosphorylating the C-terminal domain of a subunit of RNA polymerase II.Molecular pathology
HIV-1 Tat protein interacts with CDK9 and cyclin T, suggesting CDK9 may have a role in AIDS.
