Elluru
Elluru
(also Ellora), a village in India, in the state of Maharashtra; situated 15 km from Aurangabad. Not far from Elluru is a group of 34 Buddhist, Brahman, and Jain cave temples, all of which were built between the sixth and 13th centuries. Worthy of special note is the monolithic Kailasa Temple. The stylobate of one of the three parts of the temple is surrounded by life-size carved elephants.
