Location:40 miles northeast of Beaufort, North Carolina, along the Atlantic coast.
Facilities:2 boat ramps.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting.
Special Features:Refuge also provides habitat and protection for American alligators and brown pelicans.
Habitats: 14,480 acres of brackish coastal marsh pocosin and woodlands.
Access: Year round.
Wild life: Diving ducks (including lesser scaups, canvasbacks, redheads, and buffleheads), sea ducks, American black ducks, black rails, wading birds, and shore birds.
