Brown, Terry

Brown, Terry

(1955–2008)Organic architect, best known for his own home and studio in Cincinnati Ohio, the Mushroom House, built between 1992 and 2006 and also called the Tree House. The eccentric residence is a multilayered handcrafted exercise in distorted perspective. Like much of Brown’s later work, the home is made of a variety of materials—clear and colored glass, metal, shells, ceramics, and various woods and siding, and its features include round windows, bark-like exterior, and low roof line.
