Location:18 miles southwest of Mountain Home, in southwestern Idaho.
Facilities:98 campsites, including 82 with water and electricity, group campsite, 2 rental cabins,showers, flush toilets, hiking trails, equestrian trails, equestrian facility, boat ramps,group picnic shelter, observatory, educational center, nature store.
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing, boating (electric motors only), hiking,horseback riding, sledding, sky watching, guided nature walks, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park features a 470-foot-tall sand dune, the tallest single-structuredsand dune in North America. Visitors are allowed to climb the dunes,but vehicles are not allowed on them. Visitors to the park can alsoview stars at the state'sonly public observatory, which is located here. In addition, thepark is part of the world-famous Snake River Birds of Prey Area, andthe visitor center has information on all birds of prey as well asinsects, fossils, wildlife, and sand dunes.
