Bettles Bay State Marine Park
Location:One of several state marine parks that can be reached from Whittier; accessible only by boat.
Facilities:Undeveloped.
Activities:Boating, fishing, wildlife viewing. There are campsites here, but camping is generally poor due to the wetlands.
Special Features:Park is well protected from winds and has a good soft holding bottom,making it an excellent anchorage. The park affords excellent views ofthe scenic Bettles Glacier, and attractions include an old stamp pressand gold mine located just southeast of the park.
