a city (since 1971); center of El’sk Raion, Gomel’ Oblast, Byelorussian SSR. It has a railroad station on the Kalinkovichi-Korosten’ line. A creamery, fruit and vegetable plant, distillery, brickyard, and furniture plant, as well as the National Glory Museum, are located in El’sk.
