Location:9 miles north of Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound.
Facilities:167 standard campsites, 143 utility campsites, 5 primitive campsites, 3 group camps, 6 showers (4 @di), picnic areas, picnic shelters, 10 kitchen shelters (4 with electricity), hiking trails (38 miles), horse trails (6 miles), freshwater and saltwater shoreline, swimming area, boat rentals, boat launch, dock, moorage, 2 amphitheaters, museum, environmental learning center, concessions, park store, game courts, observation deck.

Special Features:During his Northwest coastal explorations, Captain Vancouver realized he'd mistaken an island for a peninsula, so he named the island Whidbey and the inlet in which he was anchored Deception Pass, to commemorate the error. His assistant, Joseph Whidbey, was at his side when he made the mistake, and the island was named in his honor.
