enteroplexy

enteroplexy

A rarely used, nonspecific term for intestinal anastomosis;
such terms are generally inadequate, as any form of surgically created pathway in a nonterminal portion of the gastrointestinal tract requires adjectival modifiers to indicate both from and to—e.g., enteroenteric, gastrojejunal, esophagosigmoid and so on.

enteroplexy

(en?ter-o-plek'se) Surgical union of divided parts of the intestine. Synonym: enteroanastomosis
