Arimathaea (ăr'ĭməthē`ə), in the New Testament, home of St. Joseph of Arimathea, not otherwise known. It may be the same as Ramathaim-zophimRamathaim-zophim , in the Bible, birthplace of Samuel, usually called Ramah and later Ramathaim.
