释义 | Buckley, William F., Jr.Buckley, William F. (Frank), Jr.(1925– ) journalist, author; born in New York City. Son of a wealthy oilman, he castigated the values of his alma mater in God and Man at Yale (1951) and became a leading light of political conservatism as founder (in 1955) and longtime editor of National Review magazine, and as a syndicated columnist. Known for his patrician manner and sesquipedalian vocabulary, he hosted a TV discussion program, Firing Line, from 1966. His books include a series of popular spy thrillers. |
