Forever Knight Fandom

In the wake of public response to the Forever Knight television series during the 1992–93 season, Lora Haines founded a club for the show’s growing number of fans. The club publishes a newsletter, Feeding Frenzy, six times a year. Already in 1988, Rosemary Shad had founded The Official Geraint Wyn Davies Fan Club, built around Forever Knight’s handsome young star. A variety of fanzines also appeared, including The Raven, edited by Amy Hull and Paula Sanders; Knight Beat, edited by Barbara Fister-Liltz; Knightly Tales, edited by Ann Hull and Bill Hupe; On the Wings of the Knight, edited by Jessica Daigneault; and Forever Net (drawing on the Forever Knight computer networks). The Geraint Wyn Davies Fan Club is at 4133 Glendale Rd., Woodbridge, VA 22193, http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/1937/book1999b.html. Fan clubs for several of the cast members appeared, including Nigel Bennett, who played LaCroix, Deborah Duchene, who played Jeanette, and John Kepelos, who played Nick Knight’s partner, Lt. Don Schanke. Among those most active in Forever Knight fandom is Barbara Fister-Liltz, who has a long career in vampire-related fan organizations. She was a leader in the development of Shadowcon, an annual Dark Shadows convention, and also illustrated several Dark Shadows books, including Lori Paige’s Balm in Gilead and S. M. Brand’s Belinda: A Weekend in New England. She also founded Pandora Publications, which published a variety of Dark Shadows and vampire publications. Fister-Liltz currently lives in Illinois where she works for Special Services Unlimited, distributor of both Forever Knight and Dark Shadows merchandise.

Forever Knight fandom survived into the new century, but has become almost exclusively found on several Internet sites where fans can continue to discuss the show and offer their own fan fiction that develops new story lines for the characters. The three season series was brought out on DVD in the middle of the decade (2003–06).
