Budde, Evgenii Fedorovich

 

Born Dec. 13 (25), 1859, in the village of Georgievka, Elizavetgrad District, Kherson Province; died 1929, in Kazan. Russian linguist; corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1916). Professor at the University of Kazan beginning in 1894. Budde was chiefly concerned with the problems of dialectology and the history of the Russian literary language.
