DOK6

A gene on chromosome 18q22.2 that encodes an enzymatically inert adaptor/scaffolding protein, which provides the docking platform for assembling multimolecular signalling complexes. DOK6 promotes Ret-mediated neurite growth, and may have a role in brain development and/or maintenance. It is highly expressed in the foetal and adult brain, including the cerebellum.
