Dokukin, Aleksandr Viktorovich

 

Born July 8 (21), 1909, in Tula. Soviet mining scientist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1976). Member of the CPSU since 1940.

Dokukin graduated from the Moscow Mining Institute in 1935. From 1950 to 1958, he was the director of the All-Union Coal Institute. In 1962 he became the director of the A. A. Skochinskii Mining Institute.

Dokukin’s main works deal with mining mechanics and with the technology and large-scale mechanization of the underground mining of sheet deposits of solid useful minerals.

Dokukin received the State Prize of the USSR in 1952. He has been awarded the Order of Lenin and six other orders, as well as various medals.
