释义 | Barrows, HarlanBarrows, Harlan (Hiram)(1877–1960) geographer; born in Armada, Mich. He was chairman of the department of geography at the University of Chicago (1919–42). His work in historical geography and the conservation of natural resources was widely respected. His presidential address delivered before the Association of American Geographers (1922), "Geography as Human Ecology," remains one of those most quoted. |
