Dollar price of a bond

Dollar price of a bond

Percentage of face value at which a bond is quoted.

Dollar Price of a Bond

The price of a bond, expressed as a percentage of the face value. For example, if a bond has a face value of $1000 (which most bonds do), and it is trading at $990, the price is quoted as 99% in dollar terms. The dollar price is one of two ways bonds are quoted on different exchanges. The other way is a percentage of the bond's yield.
