Centradenia
a genus of herbs or subshrubs of the family Melastomaceae. The stems are four-angled. The lanceolate leaves are opposite, but those of each pair are not equal in size. The pink or white flowers are in apical or axillary racemes. The fruit is a capsule. There are seven species, distributed in Mexico and Central America. Some, including C. grandifolia and C. floribunda, are cultivated as ornamentals.
