A term of art referring to the normal histologic distribution of intrapithelial lymphocytes in the GI tract that decrease in concentration from the mucosal crypts (more) to tips (less). This pattern forms the basis for the villous-tip score, and is reversed in intraepithelial lymphocytosis (IELosis).DiffDx, IELosis
