Central Auditing Commission of the Komsomol

 

a body of the Komsomol (All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League). The Congress of the Komsomol elects the members of the Central Auditing Commission and determines the number of members the commission is to have. The commission is charged with verifying that business is handled expeditiously and correctly by the central Komsomol bodies and by the treasury and enterprises of the Central Committee of the Komsomol.

The first Central Auditing Commission was elected at the Second Congress of the Komsomol in 1919; it had three members. The commission gradually increased in size as a result of the growth in the complexity and amount of its work. The Central Auditing Commission elected at the Seventeenth Congress of the Komsomol in 1974 had 57 members.
