Dediushko, Vladimir

Born Jan. 19 (Feb. 1), 1905, in Minsk; died there Mar. 30, 1973. Soviet Byelorussian actor. People’s Artist of the USSR (1971). Member of the CPSU from 1948.

Dediushko joined the Byelorussian Third Drama Theater in 1923 and the Ia. Kupala Byelorussian Theater in 1937. His roles included Krushina in Movzon’s Konstantin Zaslonov, Pytlevanyi in Krapiva’s The Larks Are Singing, and Motskin in Makaenok’s Excuse Me, Please! He also appeared in two plays by Korneichuk, playing Mestnyi in The Front and Vakulenko in The Snowball Grove. Among his motion picture roles were Krushina in Konstantin Zaslonov and Krinitskii in Pavlinka.

Dediushko was a deputy to the eighth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian SSR. He received the State Prize of the USSR in 1952. Dediushko was awarded the Order of Lenin and various medals.
