eSource document

The electronic record used to aggregate eSource data items for capture, transmission, storage and/or display, which serves as a source document for a clinical investigation. eSource documents are recorded in information systems according to conventions (e.g., for .pdf documents) to ensure that all eSource data fields and associated contextual information (e.g., time of capture, time zone, authorship, signatures, revisions) are linked to each other in a particular structure for presentation.
