Bukhtarma Glacier

 

(1) Greater Bukhtarma Glacier, on the northern slopes of the Southern Altai Range, at the source of the Bukhtarma River (Kazakh SSR). Length, about 6 km; width, 0.7-2 km; area, 4.5 sq km. The snow line is at an elevation of 2, 800 m, and the end of the glacier descends to 2, 545 m.

(2) Lesser Bukhtarma Glacier. Length, 2 km; area, 1.5 sq km.
