A descriptive term for a “fracture” of penile erectile tissue, which occurs when the erect penis sustains an injury to the tunica albuginea due to deliberate or accidental bending or folding, resulting in membrane tears (indicated by a popping sound), often excruciating pain and extravasation of blood from the corpora cavernosa into surrounding tissues, causing oedema and bruising.
