Evgrafov, Aleksei Romanovich

 

Born Apr. 12 (24), 1867, in Arzamas; died Nov. 12, 1953, in Moscow. Soviet veterinary scientist, doctor of veterinary science (1938).

In 1892, Evgrafov graduated from the Derpt (Dorpat) Veterinary Institute. From 1918 to 1920 he was head of the Main Veterinary Directorate of the Red Army. In 1922, Evgrafov became the rector of the Moscow Veterinary Institute. From 1925 to 1930 he was the rector of the Saratov Veterinary Institute. His scientific work was devoted to the study of internal diseases in animals. Evgrafov was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and various medals.
