Felling Contract

Felling Contract

a document conferring the right to procurement of a growing forest and defining the place, period, and other conditions of felling. In government fund forests, felling contracts are given out by the state forestry station, whereas in kolkhoz forests they are given out by interkolkhoz state forestry stations, by forestry sections of the state forestry station, or by the kolkhoz administrations. The felling contract is held on an equal footing with monetary documents. The volume of the released wood and the monetary receipt for the wood, as well as the period and order of cutting and reforestation, are written into the felling contract. Data on the agreed-upon and actual yield of the forest for each felling contract are systematized and noted in the ledger of the forest consumption. Small-scale felling in forests can be done by voucher.
