Bunina body

Bunina body

small eosinophilic neuronal inclusion, typically between 2 and 5 mcm, often arranged in beaded chains, seen commonly, but not only, in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Bunina body

A cystatin C-containing inclusion body seen by light microscopy on H&E-stained sections of motor neurones in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which, while characteristic, is less specific for ALS than ubiquitinated and neurofilamentous inclusions, as they are similar to structures found in neurones of aged rats and humans.
