Beck I operation

A long-abandoned and primitive heart procedure for managing arteriosclerosis, which was first performed by Dr Claude Schaeffer Beck (1894–1971) and consisted of abrasion of the epicardium and pericardium, application of an inflammatory agent (asbestos), partial occlusion of the coronary sinus and grafting of the pericardium and mediastinal fat to the surface of the heart.
