Location:Near the Dumbarton Bridge toll plaza in Fremont, California.

Special Features:Refuge protects habitat for the endangered California clapper rail and the salt marsh harvest mouse, as well as the California brown pelican, California least tern, and peregrine falcon.
Habitats: 30,000 acres of mudflats, open water, salt marshes, salt ponds, and uplands.
Access: Year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Western snowy plover, California clapper rail, salt marsh harvest mouse, and brine shrimp.
