Active Staff

(1) A medical staff status defined by the minimum number of patients a practitioner admits to the hospital during an average month. Active staff members are eligible to vote, hold office, and serve on medical staff committees.
(2) A physician or other health care provider who admits a determined number of patients to a hospital each year.
