Flores Magón, Ricardo

Born Sept. 16, 1873, in the city of Teotitlan del Camino; died Nov. 21, 1922, in Leavenworth, Kan. Mexican political figure and publicist.

Flores Magón published the revolutionary newspaper Regeneración and organized a number of armed insurrections against the reactionary regime of P. Diaz. He advocated universal equality and the abolishment of private property. After numerous imprisonments, he emigrated to the USA in 1904, from where he led Mexican patriots in the struggle for democracy. The US authorities imprisoned him five times for his revolutionary activities. In 1918 he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. He died in prison.
