Afamin

A 87kD glycoprotein member of the albumin gene family encoded by AFM on chromosome 4q13.3, which has vitamin E-binding properties, and may possibly play a role in fertility and neuroprotection. Afamin and vitamin E concentrations correlate well in follicular and cerebrospinal fluids but not in plasma.
