Cerebral Vesicles
Cerebral Vesicles
outpouchings of the cephalic section of the neural tube in the embryos of vertebrates and man.
Three cerebral vesicles form soon after closure of the neural tube: primary anterior, medial, and primary posterior. The primary anterior and posterior vesicles later divide into two parts each, giving rise to the five cerebral vesicles that become the telencephalon, diencephalon, mesencephalon, metencephalon, and medulla oblongata. The cavities of the cerebral vesicles become the cavities of the brain.
