Fluosilicic Acid

H₂SiF₆, a strong inorganic acid. It can exist only in an aqueous solution; in the free state it decomposes into silicon tetrafluoride, SiF₄, and hydrogen fluoride, HF. Fluosilicic acid is a powerful disinfectant, but it is primarily used in the preparation of its salts (fluosilicates).
