Bushmin, Aleksei Sergeevich
Born Oct. 2 (15), 1910, in Levaia Rossosh’, in present-day Voronezh Oblast. Soviet literary scholar. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1960). Member of the CPSU since 1940.
From 1955 to 1965, Bushmin was the director of the Institute of Russian Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Pushkin House). He is the author of works about Soviet writers (A. A. Fadeev, A. Serafimovich, and others), the work of M. E. Salty kov-Shchedrin, and the methodology of literary scholarship. He has been awarded two orders, as well as medals.
